Job summary

STARBASE Wright-Patt / Beavercreek City Schools in Ohio seeks a dedicated Support Staff/Teacher Assistant to support 5th-grade students with the DoD STARBASE STEM curriculum in a collaborative co-teaching setting.

You will help prepare and manage materials, maintain classrooms, assist summer camps, and represent the program at community events such as TechFest and the STEM Hoopla Challenge.

Responsibilities

• Support Instruction: Assist 5th-grade students with the DoD STARBASE STEM curriculum using a collaborative co-teaching model.
• Manage Classrooms: Set up, tear down, and inventory lesson materials routinely to keep shared classrooms organized.
• Build Rapport: Maintain a fun, professional relationship with participating students, visiting classroom teachers, and staff.
• Assist Camps: Provide instruction and operational support for summer camp participants as assigned.
• Represent the Program: Participate in at least two community outreach events, such as TechFest or the STEM Hoopla Challenge.

Position Type: Support Staff / Teacher Assistant

Schedule: Works 90 days every six months, 7.5 hours per day, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Start Date: Aug. 10, 2026

Notes: This is an Employee-At-Will position contingent upon continued DoD funding. This is a specialized DoD outreach role and is a separate entity from regular classroom teacher assistant positions regarding salary and leave.
