Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a Manager, STAR NET to lead the Illinois STAR NET Project within CPS. You will supervise the STAR NET team, ensure high-quality professional development and family engagement, and oversee grant administration and ISBE reporting across the city.

You will collaborate with CPS, ISBE, and community partners to advance equitable access to early childhood resources and professional development for educators serving young children with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required; focus in Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in early childhood education, early childhood special education, family engagement, or early learning administration.
• Minimum of two (3) years of demonstrated experience with grant oversight, state reporting, and budget administration.
• This role requires local travel between CPS locations, family support venues, and community-based organizations across the city; access to reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, develops, manages the performance of the STAR NET team to ensure high-quality service delivery, professional development, and family engagement initiatives.
• Administers program compliance, ISBE reporting, and grant deliverables while managing the STAR NET budget to ensure fiscal accountability.
• Plans and executes strategies to support professional development, technical assistance, and family workshops aligned with ISBE requirements.
• Establishes partnerships with internal CPS OECE/OSD teams, ISBE, STAR NET regions, community organizations, and family advocacy networks.
• Supports communications to stakeholders and prepares reports under tight deadlines.
• Other duties and workstreams as assigned.
