Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. in Wheeling, IL is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to wire, install, and maintain standby generator systems for residential and light commercial projects.

You will work with installation and service teams to deliver safe, code-compliant work and troubleshooting expertise. The role requires a Journeyman level by experience or licensing, with a minimum of 4 years in electrical work.

Qualifications

• Must have journeyman electrician level via experience or licensing/education/registration.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 4 years of residential or commercial electrical experience.

Responsibilities

• Pull wire, bend and install conduit, and wire electrical devices and control panels.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
• Install electrical components for generator systems including ATS (Automatic Transfer Switches).
• Perform load testing, electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Assist in preparing generator sites, including trenching, piping, and setting mechanical components.
• Conduct AC and DC electrical work for power generation systems.
• Use electrical measurement and testing equipment proficiently and safely.
• Ensure all installations meet local and national electrical codes.
• Promote a safe and positive work environment.
