Job summary

College of DuPage seeks a Standardized Patient (2 PT/Temp Casual) to portray patients in simulations. You will accurately simulate patient history, affect, and physical findings, while accepting ongoing feedback from facilitators to improve scenarios.

This flexible, part-time role requires reliability and discretion in a learning environment. The position is part-time, with a hybrid remote-eligible arrangement and an hourly wage of $17.59.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required.
• Standardized Patient, health professional, instructor, or an actor preferred.
• Bloodborne Pathogens training
• Hazardous Communications training

Responsibilities

• Portray all characteristics of a real patient in simulations.
• Accept feedback from facilitators and adapt accordingly.
• Be dependable and flexible with scheduling.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Provide constructive feedback to nursing students and colleagues.
• Be willing to be audio and videotaped during simulations.
• Be willing to wear moulage if needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Standardized Patient reports directly to the Simulation Manager. The major function of this position is to portray all the characteristics of a real patient, simulating the signs and symptoms.

• Simulate all aspects of scenarios, including history of current problem, affect/behavior and physical findings, in a standardized, accurate, and reliable manner.
• Accept ongoing feedback from facilitators and incorporate into case simulation.
• Be highly dependable.
• Demonstrate flexibility and reliability with scheduling and assignments.
• Follow written and verbal instruction.
• Provide constructive feedback to nursing students and colleagues if requested.
• Work in a professional manner when interacting with learners, faculty, supervisors and peers.
• Be willing to be audio and videotaped during simulations.
• Be willing to wear moulage, if needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Moulage, props, acting. Must be able to move without difficulty; no or very limited physical effort required; no or very limited exposure to physical risk. This position requires a background check.
