Job summary

College of DuPage invites applications for a Standardized Patient (Part-Time/Temp Casual) role. The position supports nursing simulations by portraying patients, providing feedback, and participating in moulage as needed.

This role is ideal for individuals with acting or health-professional backgrounds seeking flexible, part-time work on campus. Responsibilities include accurate scenario portrayal, accepting feedback from facilitators, and maintaining professionalism with learners and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required.
• Standardized Patient, health professional, instructor, or an actor preferred.
• Bloodborne Pathogens certification.
• Hazardous Communications certification.

Responsibilities

• Simulate all aspects of scenarios, including history of current problem, affect/behavior and physical findings, in a standardized, accurate, and reliable manner.
• Accept ongoing feedback from facilitators and incorporate into case simulation.
• Be highly dependable.
• Demonstrate flexibility and reliability with scheduling and assignments.
• Follow written and verbal instruction.
• Provide constructive feedback to nursing students and colleagues if requested.
• Work in a professional manner when interacting with learners, faculty, supervisors and peers.
• Be willing to be audio and videotaped during simulations.
• Be willing to wear moulage, if needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Moulage, props, acting. Must be able to move without difficulty; no or very limited physical effort required; no or very limited exposure to physical risk. This position requires a background check.
