Responsibilities

• Move materials with stand-up and sit-down forklifts on the 2nd shift.
• Pull orders for Machine Shop, welding, CNC and components.
• Transfer material to fixed locations; operate overhead crane and heavy equipment.
• Assist Receiving as time permits and ensure accurate inventory by weighing.
• Count all parts going into inventory and participate in CI initiatives.

Stand-up Forklift/Material Handler Job Summary:

A leading metal fabrication company in Grand Rapids is looking for an experienced and dependable Material Handler to join their 2nd shift team! In this hands on role, you’ll play a key part in keeping production running smoothly—moving heavy materials, supporting multiple departments, and ensuring every part is in the right place at the right time. Stand-up Forklift/Material Handler Responsibilities:

• 10 drop zones with 3-5 daily pickups
• Moving finished materials with Forklift
• Pull ordersfor Machine Shop, welding, CNC and component part materials
• Transfer material/ Fixed locations. With Forklift, Overhead Crane and Heavy material movement equipment
• Assist Receiving as time permits
• Ensure accurate inventory by weighing
• Counting all parts going into inventory
• Participate in Continuous Improvement and Suggestion System as required.

Schedule & Pay:

• 2nd Shift 2-11:30 Monday through Thursday and Fridays 2pm-6pm
• $ 21.00-25.00/HR DOE

Stand-up Forklift/Material Handler Qualifications:

• GED or 1+ years of experience
• Experience driving forklifts stand up and sit down
• Ability to attain a forklift license
• Ability to attain overhead crane operator certification
• Past experience moving heavy steel coil a plus
