Job summary

Proof of the Pudding is seeking an experienced Concessions Supervisor to lead the concessions program at PGA golf tournaments and other events. This part-time role requires travel, knowledge of catering/buffet equipment, and proven leadership in high-volume settings.

You will supervise concession staff, coordinate pre-event planning, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards while delivering quality service to guests.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in concessions or sports operations.
  • Ability to travel domestically; typical trips 10–20 days.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and be able to rent a car and drive.
  • Forklift license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead meetings with volunteers and coordinate with the director of concessions.
  • Supervise volunteers and temporary staff in stands.
  • Prepare paperwork, restock sheets, and ensure health compliance.
  • Set up equipment and stock beverages; ensure POS systems operate smoothly.
  • Oversee on-site concessions management during events; ensure sanitation and safety.
  • Coordinate post-event tasks including inventory and teardown.

This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, & more.

We are seeking an experienced and diligent Concessions Supervisor to lead the concessions program. The Concessions Supervisor will be responsible for supervising concession stands at a variety of events and assisting the team in pre-planning and event logistics. This position requires travel, knowledge of catering/buffet equipment and operations, and experience in high volume Sports & Entertainment catering.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
PRE-EVENT
  • Lead meetings with volunteer groups and have continuous open lines of communication with the director of concessions & operations team preparation for each event.
  • Manage volunteer groups & temporary staff working in the stands.
  • Prepare organizational documents / make sure to have Concessions Folders and necessary paperwork – restock sheets per concessions location, ensure time & temperature, handwash paperwork is hung up and visible.
  • Set up smallwares and equipment ensure each is ready & operational.
  • Clean equipment, stock beverage coolers.
  • Understand how the payment systems (Square point of Sale) work.
  • Assist with the integration of new volunteer groups and training of new team members.
  • Ensure all volunteer & Temporary staff are on time and report and tardiness to Director.
ON-SITE
  • Responsible for total concessions management of several PGA golf tournaments and special events including POS installation, operational training, ordering/receiving restock inventory, equipment and goods inventory, onsite set-up, event execution, and end of event break-down.
  • Supervise the preparation and service of food and refreshments. Ensure compliance with local health & safety standards.
  • Maintain all bar policies and procedures, ensure bartenders understand and are familiar with Proof of the Pudding policies
  • Directly supervise concessions employees with responsibility for hiring, coaching, and corrective action plans if necessary
  • Conducting pre-shift meetings and managing the team of staff that is scheduled to run concessions at each event.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations; securing revenues; and maintaining security systems.
  • Coordinate all logisitics for determined locations and facilitate operational needs for success.
  • Assist with POS maintenance and management in specified location(s).
  • Ensure clients are happy and welcomed by yourself & staff.
POST-EVENT
  • Assisting in post-event tasks including conducting inventory, loading trucks in preparations for upcoming events, and overseeing concessions food donations.
  • Complete stand / bar breakdown.
  • Secure and finalize all POS units, ensure all units transactions have completed online & pack units for delivery back to Director.

Performs other related duties as needed.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in Concessions, Sports & Entertainment Operations, Food & Beverage, Operations Supervising – experience in high volume stadiums or special events is preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically throughout the year
  • Typical trips are from 10-20 days in length
  • Knowledge of Programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Points of Sale
  • Must have valid driver’s license, be able to rent and drive cars, and be able to operate a golf cart
  • Ability to obtain forklift license is preferred

  • Stamina to work 50+ hours per week as needed
  • Muss be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more as business dictates
  • Muss be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts

Work Environment

This position is most often stationed in a temporary tent structure – you will be out in the elements (rain or shine) throughout the day & events. There may be stairs, bumps, dips, and snags on the floor or within the structure. This role is client facing and is often communicating with a variety of people. This role will be standing, walking, performing kitchen duties, and carrying equipment and/or food products often.

Physical Demands

This role requires standing and walking for long periods of time and the work days can be long and demandingThe hours worked depends on the event and service times, but expectations can be 8-14 hours/dayPeriods of standing, moving through an event space, and traveling from venue to venue with bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food itemsAbility to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 50 lbs.
