Responsibilities

• Monitor processes to ensure timetables and objectives are met.
• Collaborate with support staff to ensure materials, quality, accounting, and personnel needs are met to avoid interruptions.
• Evaluate production requirements and determine production schedules.
• Identify, implement, and verify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Develop, institute, and maintain safe and efficient work practices and facilities.

Overview

An established manufacturer is seeking a Stamping Press Room Manager to lead all production activities within its press room operations. This role is responsible for directing day-to-day press room activities and ensuring that production schedules, products, and deliveries meet customer quality standards at minimum cost.

What you'll do

• Direct and supervise Production Supervisors, Shift Superintendents, and all stamping operations team members to ensure correct, accurate, and timely completion of production and delivery schedules
• Establish and meet objectives for production, quality, and plant safety standards
• Continuously monitor processes to ensure objectives and timetables are met
• Collaborate with support personnel to ensure materials, quality, accounting, and personnel needs are met to avoid production interruptions
• Evaluate production requirements and determine production schedules
• Identify, implement, and verify continuous improvement opportunities
• Monitor work-in-process to ensure work proceeds satisfactorily
• Develop, institute, and maintain efficient and safe work practices and facilities
• Stay current on safety requirements and new developments to maintain an injury-free, highly efficient plant operation
• Improve the abilities, skills, and knowledge of production personnel through appropriate instruction and training
• Ensure strict compliance with all quality control standards
• Establish individual objectives jointly with team members through analysis of their job functions
• Understand and participate in HSE&E practices applicable to the role
• Report accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures in assigned production areas
• Follow and enforce compliance with company safety rules and regulations

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of recent stamping/press room leadership experience
• New Program Launch experience required
• Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
• Manufacturing experience including several years of supervisory experience
• Experience with IATF / ISO requirements
• Effective and professional communication skills
• Solid understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing methodologies with a proven track record of implementation
• Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability
• Ability to motivate a team environment, drive results, and delegate authority to subordinate personnel
• Track record of delivering strong continuous improvement results
• Proven record of implementing and operating within data-driven or metrics-driven management systems
