Job summary

Flex-N-Gate LLC. seeks a skilled tool and die development assistant to support automotive prototype die work. You will help set up tooling, assist in die spotting and tryouts, and develop binders and dies while producing stampings and tracking quality measures.

The role requires familiarity with GD&T, blueprints, and common shop machinery, plus a mechanical mindset and basic math skills. Strong teamwork and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Familiar with Automotive Prototype Die Development, GD&T and blue print reading.
• Ability to operate common workshop machinery listed above.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• Willing to take related courses and learn new processes.
• Self-motivated with good problem solving and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in set-up of tooling in press operations.
• Assist with spotting and tryout of dies.
• Complete binder development and die changes as needed.
• Produce stampings and track QOS measures.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.
• Interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in set-up soft and hard tooling in press.
• Assist with spotting all dies.
• Assist in tryout of all dies.
• Complete Binder Development.
• Perform die changes as necessary.
• Blank Development.
• Develop Die.
• Meet all requirements for Press Show.
• Perform die barbering as necessary.
• Produce stampings.
• Track and manage any QOS measures assigned.
• Understand housekeeping requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Be safety conscious and understand all potential safety hazards in work environment.
• Practice and promote safe work practices throughout the plant.
• Promote team concepts and participate in teams.
• Complete necessary paperwork.
• Understand the needs of internal/external customers.
• Understand and follow Peregrine policies and practices and any other legal requirements.
• Must present a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Must be able to interact appropriately with customers.
• Must be an active participant in achieving and maintaining quality goals and continuous improvement activities.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Soft Tool Development Area Manager.
