Job summary

Doug Ashy Building Materials in Louisiana is hiring a Full-time Stager to support yard operations. You will pull, stage, and load materials per delivery tickets, verify trucks against paperwork, and keep materials organized in the yard while assisting customers as needed.

The role requires 1+ year in building materials, ability to lift up to 80 lbs, and experience with forklifts (certification preferred). Outdoor work in all weather and strict safety adherence are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in the building materials industry.
• Must be able to safely operate a forklift; certification preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 80 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
• Must follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Basic reading and writing skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Dependable and punctual with a positive attitude.
• Able to work well independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Available to work every other Saturday (half-day) or as needed.

Full-time Stager at Doug Ashy Building Materials.

Duties

• Pick up delivery tickets from the dispatcher to start your day.


• Pull, stage, and load building materials based on delivery tickets - accuracy matters.


• Check incoming vendor trucks to make sure they're delivering to Doug Ashy and that everything matches the paperwork.


• Unload vendor deliveries and place materials in the correct yard location.


• Keep an eye on yard security and report any suspicious activity or theft.


• Perform daily safety checks on forklifts and complete simple maintenance logs.


• Keep up with staging records and report any inventory issues to the dispatcher.


• Jump in to help customers when needed - we're all one team here.


• Other duties as assigned by the manager to support the success of the team and business.
