Job summary

Doug Ashy Building Materials in Louisiana is hiring a Full-time Stager to support yard operations. You will pull, stage, and load materials, verify deliveries against paperwork, and keep inventory organized.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in the building materials sector, can lift heavy loads, and work outdoors in various weather conditions with PPE. Team-oriented and safety-conscious individuals are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in the building materials industry.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 80 lbs occasionally.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop and reach for extended periods.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and adhering to PPE rules.

Responsibilities

• Pull, stage, and load building materials based on delivery tickets with accuracy.
• Check incoming vendor trucks and paperwork for accuracy.
• Unload deliveries and place materials in correct yard locations.
• Monitor yard security and log inventory and safety checks.
• Assist customers when needed and support the team as required.
• Follow manager instructions and perform other duties as assigned.

Now hiring:

Full-time Stager at Doug Ashy Building Materials.

Duties

• Pick up delivery tickets from the dispatcher to start your day.


• Pull, stage, and load building materials based on delivery tickets — accuracy matters.


• Check incoming vendor trucks to make sure they’re delivering to Doug Ashy and that everything matches the paperwork.


• Unload vendor deliveries and place materials in the correct yard location.


• Keep an eye on yard security and report any suspicious activity or theft.


• Perform daily safety checks on forklifts and complete simple maintenance logs.


• Keep up with staging records and report any inventory issues to the dispatcher.


• Jump in to help customers when needed — we’re all one team here.


• Other duties as assigned by the manager to support the success of the team and business.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in the building materials industry required.


• Must be able to safely operate a forklift; certification preferred.


• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 80 lbs occasionally.


• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.


• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).


• Must follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).


• Basic reading and writing skills.


• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.


• Dependable and punctual with a positive attitude.


• Able to work well independently and as part of a team.


• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.


• Available to work every other Saturday (half-day) or as needed.
