Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Propulsion Engineer for Stage Systems (Starship) to own stage propulsion performance, develop designs, and support flight operations. You will craft CONOPs, model thermal-fluid behavior, and validate system performance through testing and data review.

The role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical/aerospace engineering, 1 year in propulsion or fluid design, and strong communication skills. Willingness to travel and work extended hours is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or aerospace engineering.
  • 1 year of mechanical or fluid system design experience.
  • Experience with propellant feed/management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain requirements, design, operation, and performance of stage propulsion components.
  • Develop and maintain thermal/fluid models of stage propulsion systems.
  • Generate and maintain stage control timing, valve sequencing, and mission design; create CONOPs.
  • Support production, test, and launch operations across SpaceX facilities.
  • Review and approve stage checkouts and dispositions; perform final vehicle inspections.
  • Generate stage test plans; support testing operations; review data; validate performance; sign off before shipment.
  • Review launch data and lead stage-related anomaly resolutions.
