Qualifications

• Certificated staff qualification required.

Responsibilities

• Run audition calls ensuring slots are met and auditionees are moved through the process with information and direction
• Construct and maintain Stage Managers Production Manual
• Attend rehearsals, taking blocking (or ensuring that a student assigned to the task completes it), taking props and designer notes, making schedule adjustments as needed
• Calling times and breaks as needed
• Communicating rehearsal notes to the production team through rehearsal reports
• Run rehearsals in absence of Director, according to the guidelines and artistic vision set forth by the Director
• Attending all tech rehearsals – setting the stage for rehearsal, ensuring the backstage area is conducive to rehearsal safety, ensuring all working props are available and placed properly
• Call all tech rehearsals: starts, breaks, holds, ends
• Manage backstage and dressing rooms for all tech rehearsal and performances: Call times and places, Call front‑of‑house opening, Call start of show
• Call all performances: Curtain Up, Light cues, sound cues: visual cues, set changes, Curtain down
• Document performances with performance reports, to be kept in Production Manual
• Direct all backstage needs during tech rehearsal and performances via headset, designated personnel, and staff support
• Direct strike activities
• Strike booth and backstage of all show materials and gear post‑run
