Job summary

UtahPresents at the University of Utah seeks a Stage Technician for backstage support across diverse events such as dance, concerts, and opera. This part-time, per-call role offers hands-on experience with fly-rail, lighting, and audio-visual tasks.

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates will have a minimum two years experience in theatrical or related technical fields and will be enthusiastic about growing skills in new areas.
• Equivalency statement allows 1 year of higher education to substitute for 1 year of directly related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time and prepared for all assigned shifts.
• Perform tasks such as hanging soft goods, lighting focus, cable wrapping, and truck unloading/loading.
• Follow instructions and receive training for each event and ask questions when unsure.
• Demonstrate effective communication and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Adapt to a varied theatre schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
