Job summary

The Fountain Group is seeking a Process Engineer II for a 1-year contract in Newton, NC (28658). This onsite role focuses on supporting manufacturing process qualification, optimization, equipment installations, commissioning, and process improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a engineering degree and 2+ years of process/manufacturing experience, with strong data analytics, troubleshooting, and documentation skills. Lean Six Sigma and capital project experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required
• 2+ years of Process or Manufacturing Engineering experience required
• Experience with equipment qualification, commissioning, installation, startup, and process improvements required
• Strong data analytics to drive process improvements required
• Experience with process optimization, capacity expansion, and manufacturing operations required
• Experience developing process documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, equipment specs) required
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and JMP required
• Lean Six Sigma or related methodologies preferred
• Experience with capital projects and equipment installations preferred

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing process qualification and optimization initiatives
• Assist equipment installations, commissioning, and startup activities
• Drive process development and continuous improvement to improve safety, quality, reliability, and productivity
• Perform data analytics, statistical evaluations, and root cause investigations to reduce downtime
• Develop and maintain process documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, equipment specs)
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, R&D, Automation, EHS, and contractors on projects and improvements
• Support Lean Six Sigma, waste reduction, and data-driven decision making

Job description

The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking a Process Engineer II for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Newton, NC 28658. Details of the position are as follows.

Job Details:

• Pay: $46.00-49.00/hour to Start!!
• 1-year contract, with potential for extension/conversion based on performance and budget.
• Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (100% Onsite).
• Position will be mainly responsible for supporting manufacturing process qualification, process optimization, equipment installations, commissioning activities, and manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
• Position will be responsible for driving equipment qualification, capacity expansion projects, process development, and continuous improvement efforts to improve safety, quality, reliability, and productivity.
• Position will be responsible for performing process analysis, data analytics, statistical evaluations, root cause investigations, and implementing corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime and improve operational performance.
• Position will be responsible for developing and maintaining engineering documentation, including process descriptions, equipment specifications, PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, reports, and operating procedures.
• Position will be responsible for supporting commissioning, startup, process validation, and performance verification activities for new and upgraded manufacturing equipment.
• Position will be responsible for collaborating with Production, Maintenance, Quality, R&D, Automation, EHS, Project Management, contractors, and vendors to support project execution and process improvements.
• Position will be responsible for supporting Lean Six Sigma, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven decision making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline is Required!
• 2+ years of Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Project Engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is Required!
• Experience with equipment qualification, commissioning, installation, startup, and manufacturing process improvements is Required!
• Strong data analytics experience with the ability to analyse process performance and drive equipment/process improvements is Required!
• Experience with process optimization, capacity expansion, equipment upgrades, or manufacturing operations is Required!
• Experience developing and reviewing process documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, and equipment specifications is Required!
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills are Required!
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistical analysis tools such as JMP is Required!
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DMAIC, DOE, 8D, FMEA, or other continuous improvement methodologies is Preferred!
• Experience with Aspen Plus, HYSYS, AutoCAD Plant 3D, MATLAB, Microsoft Project, or Primavera is Preferred!
• Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, DCS, automation, instrumentation, and control systems is Preferred!
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, PE, or EIT certification is Preferred!
• Experience supporting capital projects, manufacturing equipment installations, and qualification activities is Preferred!
