This role will develop and improve process solutions, analyze performance data, troubleshoot technical issues, and support projects from design through commissioning, startup, performance verification, and closeout.

The Process Engineer II will work closely with production, maintenance, quality, R&D, EHS, automation, project management, vendors, and contractors to improve safety, quality, yield, capacity, reliability, and cost performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support equipment upgrades, process development and modifications, and continuous-improvement initiatives from design through startup and performance verification.

  • Develop and maintain process descriptions, equipment specifications, engineering calculations, reports, operating procedures, and other technical documentation.
  • Perform process calculations, equipment-sizing evaluations, capacity studies, process simulations, and statistical data analysis.
  • Support process recipe creation, testing, validation, and process integration.
  • Partner with project managers to define project scope, manage technical risks, track progress, and support schedules, estimates, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in design, process-safety, risk, and Management of Change reviews.
  • Develop and execute commissioning plans, startup procedures, test protocols, and acceptance criteria.
  • Investigate process issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure processes and designs are safe, compliant, operable, and maintainable.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, DOE, 8D, FMEA, and related methodologies to drive process improvements.
  • Prepare trial summaries and present findings to managers and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Process, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of process, manufacturing, or project engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with process improvement, equipment upgrades, process development, or manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to develop and review process documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, and equipment specifications.
  • Experience supporting construction, commissioning, startup, production troubleshooting, or field activities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to present statistical data to cross-functional teams using appropriate software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistical-analysis software such as JMP.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with process-design or project-management tools such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, AutoCAD Plant 3D, MATLAB, Microsoft Project, or Primavera.
  • Knowledge of process equipment, instrumentation, automation, PLC, SCADA, DCS, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with process-safety methods including HAZOP, What-If, PHA, LOPA, FMEA, and Management of Change.
  • Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations such as OSHA, NFPA, ASME, API, ISA, EPA, GMP, FDA, or ISO.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, PE, or EIT certification.

This is a primarily on-site role supporting office, manufacturing, and construction environments. Periodic travel to nearby sites and occasional off-hours support may be required for project activities, shutdowns, commissioning, or startup.
