Ocean Healthcare is seeking a Staffing Coordinator at Hunterdon Care Center to oversee and manage staffing schedules and records. Ideal candidates will have staffing experience and a High School diploma. This role requires effective communication skills and a commitment to supporting staffing needs in a healthcare setting.

Monday-Friday 8-4 or 9-5

Duties and Responsibilities:
oPrepare “monthly” schedules for all nursing departments – schedule to be posted at 4 week intervals and 2 weeks prior to the expiration of the current schedule
oMaintain a list of open positions
oPrepare daily sign in sheets at least one week in advance
oMonitor daily staffing per PPD and census utilizing the staffing grid
oGrants overtime when necessary
oResponds to staff requests for benefit days off
oReceives, records and replaces staff as call-outs occur
oPrepare Daily Staffing Roster
oMaintain attendance records of nursing staff
oPerform Orientation for Nursing personnel
oProvide new hires a schedule on first day of orientation
oInitiate Employee Health requirements (TB and HBV)
oCommunicate effectively with staff
oReport to DON/designee daily of staffing patterns and/ or open positions
oMaintain accurate phone list of nursing personnel
oCheck ADL books for completion
oMonitor shower rooms for shower sheets
oMaintain and update Daily Care Guides
oHandle all staffing calls while on duty M-F
oAbility to function as a Role Model
oAttends in-service and educational programs
oAttends continuing education required for maintenance of professional certification
oMaintains confidentiality
oAbility to communicate in English via phone, in writing and verbally in conversation with different levels of staff, resident families and any outside customers.
oRecognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization.
oAttend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.
oCarry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
oFollow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
oLook for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organization.
oCommunicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success.
oSupport QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions, and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
oAny other duties as assigned
