DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Staffing Coordinator is designated to ensure proper staffing for Nursing AdminSUPERVISION Reports directly to Director of House Supervision
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Assess evaluate and calculate daily staffing needs to meet core staffing needs of each inpatient unit in the organization
- Receives all employee patient care areas call ins and adjust schedules to maintain suitable staffing levels
- Schedules and assigns delivery and pick up for the CourierStaff and document charges for all inpatient 11 sitters
- Receive transfer request from outside facility and coordinates with House Supervisor Hospitalist and Specialist to facilitate transfer
- Coordinates and distributes Pizza for Pizza Fridays
- Filingorganizing paperwork
- Receiving and faxing work excuses to HRO
- Ordering office supplies
- Ordering patient nutrition for after hours
- Tracking durable medical equipment SCD machines wound vacs etc
- Maintain proficient skills in multiple programs including Ansos Paragon Trauma case alert ESF8 portal LERN One Content Excel Word Outlook email Resource Scheduling Bed watch etc
- Strong organizational skills
- Provide payroll support to the Nursing payroll department
- Assist the House Supervisor with Surgery GICath lab call outs
- Assists House Supervisor with PICCMidline gate keeping
- Occasionally provides staffing support to the ED Rehab Memorial Specialty Same Day Surgery and Archer Institute
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- 2 yr similar experience preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read write and speak intelligible English;
- Ability to communicate with patient family peers and medical personnel;
- Be willing to train for more advanced duties or skills
- Requires emotional stability and resilience;
- Must be adaptable to change be decisive and demonstrate foresight
- Exhibits organizational and leadership ability
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work requires a variety of physical activities including standing and walking for long periods of time bending stooping and lifting
- Work environment may be physically confining
- Visual acuity is required for a variety of specific activities
- Must be able to exchange accurate information with patient family peers and medical personnel
- Ability to do shift work as required
- Alertness and careful attention to detail will be required to avoid injury
