What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Schedule and reassign staff to ensure optimal resource allocation according to hospital policies
- Communicate with unit-based leadership and staffing colleagues to assess resource needs
- Directly engage with patient care colleagues to enhance their availability for open shifts
- Accurately enter scheduling and attendance information into scheduling software and generate reports
- Assist in training and orienting new staffing clerks while recommending improvements to staffing policies

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of two (2) years of staff scheduling experience
- High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in at least one word processing and one spreadsheet software package
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in hospital healthcare scheduling
- Additional formal clerical and computer training
- Ability to operate office equipment such as personal computers and fax machines
