Bruker NANO group seeks a hands-on Staff Software Engineer to own architecture across Windows desktop applications, real-time workflows, hardware integration, automation, data processing and visualization. You will lead but still code and contribute to production features.

You will collaborate with applications, systems, hardware and manufacturing engineers, applying rigorous technical judgment while advancing AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 3+ years of hands-on Windows application development in C#/.NET/WPF and C++/STL
• Strong OO design, API design, debugging and refactoring skills
• Experience designing multithreaded, asynchronous, performance-sensitive Windows software
• Experience integrating software with hardware, instrumentation or automation equipment
• Experience building interactive desktop UIs and device-control layers
• Architecture ownership and technical leadership across sub-systems
• Regular use of AI coding agents (GitHub Copilot) in production software

Responsabilités

• Architect, design, implement, test and deploy production software for automated instruments.
• Develop responsive Windows applications using C#, .NET, WPF and C++/STL.
• Integrate desktop software with hardware, motion, vision, data acquisition and automation subsystems.
• Design low-latency software coordinating real-time hardware with non-real-time workflows.
• Own architecture for new capabilities and guide their integration into the product codebase.
• Diagnose complex behavior across software/hardware boundaries; lead investigations.
• Lead software integration and deployments with cross-functional teams.
• Remain hands-on while providing direction and maintaining quality across a small team.
• Use AI coding agents across the development lifecycle with strong judgment.
