Job summary

Bruker is seeking a hands-on Staff Software Engineer to own architecture and implementation across Windows desktop applications for automated Atomic Force Microscopes. You will lead real-time and non-real-time instrument workflows, hardware integration, data processing, and interactive visualization in a production codebase.

The role requires 5+ years of software engineering experience and strong C#/.NET/WPF plus modern C++/STL skills, with AI coding agents like GitHub Copilot used throughout

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Windows application development using C#/.NET/WPF and modern C++/STL.
• Strong OO design, API design, debugging, and refactoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement, debug, test, and deploy production software for automated instruments.
• Develop responsive, multithreaded Windows apps using C#, .NET, WPF, and modern C++/STL.
• Integrate desktop software with hardware, robotics, and automation subsystems.
• Lead architecture for new capabilities and guide integration into product codebase.
• Lead technical investigations across software and hardware boundaries.
