Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Test Engineer in Huntsville, AL to lead and execute comprehensive test programs for defense systems. The role involves configuring HWIL/SWIL labs, translating contract requirements into test concepts, developing test plans, and coordinating across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure readiness and compliance.

You will analyze test data, drive risk reduction decisions, and work with customers and suppliers while adhering to export-control and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing and executing integrated test plans and procedures for complex defense or aerospace systems.
• 5+ years of experience planning and executing hardware-in-the-loop and/or system-level hardware test activities.
• 5+ years of experience in development of innovative Test Automation solutions.
• Solid background in system and network administration (Linux/Windows).
• Ability to troubleshoot and support organic/COTS SW/HW integration in labs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and configure test facilities and HWIL/SWIL labs, including planning, procurement, builds, and readiness for Phase 2 and future phase test activities.
• Translate customer requirements into integrated test concepts balancing performance, schedule, and cost.
• Develop and lead preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for subsystems and lab testing.
• Coordinate test activities across internal teams, test operations, and external suppliers for readiness and execution.
• Maintain the program Integrated Test Plan (ITP) ensuring traceability of test requirements.
• Analyze test data and generate data-driven evaluation reports to drive design and risk decisions.
• Review supplier test plans and data for compliance to requirements.
• Design proof-of-concept test methods and configurations to support risk reduction objectives.
