Job summary
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Huntsville, AL seeks a Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Test Engineer to lead complex defense system testing. You will prepare facilities, translate requirements into test concepts, and drive comprehensive test plans across multiple teams and suppliers.
The role requires DoD Secret Clearance, extensive HT/IT testing expertise, and a strong background in automated test methods for high‑reliability systems.
Qualifications
- US Citizen with active DoD Secret Clearance (current within 6 years).
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or higher; related experience acceptable at senior levels.
- 5+ years of experience developing and executing integrated test plans for defense/aerospace systems.
- 5+ years hardware-in-the-loop or system-level hardware testing experience.
- Experience with test automation solutions and data-analysis tools.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and configure test facilities and HWIL/SWIL labs for Phase 2 and future tests.
- Translate contractual requirements into integrated test concepts balancing performance, schedule, and cost.
- Lead development and execution of comprehensive test plans and schedules for subsystem and system testing.
- Coordinate test activities across engineering teams, test ops, and suppliers for readiness and execution.
- Maintain the Integrated Test Plan (ITP) ensuring traceability of test requirements.
