Job summary

The University of Toledo Health Science Campus Medical Center is seeking a Staff Technologist - CT with Cert/Reg to join our Radiology team. Under the direction of a radiologist, you will performComputed Tomography procedures and provide patient care with professional judgment, supporting interventional procedures when needed.

Required qualifications include AMA-approved radiologic technology training, ARRT Radiography registration with ODH licensure, CPR certification, and CT registry

Qualifications

  • Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved school.
  • ARRT Radiography Registered with current ODH licensure.
  • Advanced ARRT registry in CT preferred.
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Demonstrates clinical competency in caring for patients as identified in department’s Scope of Care.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of a radiologist, performs CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
  • Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgement to apply prescribed ionizing radiation.
  • Can assist the radiologist in interventional procedures.
  • Serves as an ambassador of UTMC in the community, demonstrating our organization’s values, services and mission.

Under the direction of a radiologist, performs computed tomographicprocedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervisionof technical detail. Performs a variety of technical proceduresthat will require independent judgement to apply prescribedionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Assumes responsibilityfor designated areas or procedures as required. Can assist theradiologist in interventional procedures. Serves as an ambassadorof UTMC in the community, demonstrating our organization’s values,services and mission.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology trainingin an AMA-approved school.
  • ARRT Radiography Registered with current ODH licensure.
  • Advanced ARRT registry in CT preferred.
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Demonstrates clinical competency in caring of patients asidentified in department’s Scope of Care.
  • Demonstrates competency in the care of the patient in thefollowing stages of the life cycle: infants, children, adolescents,adults and geriatrics, as well as special population needs.
  • Effectively responds to customer service needs.
    • Demonstrates effective age and culturally appropriateinteraction with patients, families and other member of the healthcare team.
    • Adheres to UTMC’s Customer Service values and iCareStandards.
    • Seeks out ways to assist patients and co-workers.
  • Actively participates in performance improvement activities asrelated to job duties.
  • Responsible for compliance with state and federal regulatoryrequirements.
Required Communication and other skills:
  • Possesses skills in communication; both verbal and written.
  • With medical staff and hospital personnel as well as referringphysicians and their offices; stats and critical testresults.
  • Uses verbal and written communication to report data concerningpatients to appropriate individuals in an accurate, timely andconfidential manner.
  • Promptly reports any errors or deviations from operationalstandards.
  • Identifies self to customers as CT Technologist.
  • Direct all incoming telephone and written communication to theappropriate section of Radiology.
