Job summary

Waymo LLC is seeking a seasoned Technical Program Manager to lead cross-functional programs, integrating Waymo’s autonomous service with third-party platforms and driving end-to-end external integrations across multiple geographies.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive experience in complex programs, and a user-centric focus to ensure quality and regulatory readiness across markets. Hybrid/remote work options are available to support global collaboration.

Qualifications

• Track record of shipping consumer-facing software products with ownership from kickoff to launch and post-launch operations.
• Experience running programs with dependencies outside your direct influence and delivering them.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills with ability to align diverse teams and influence executives.
• 7+ years of experience leading highly complex, cross-functional technical programs across Product, Engineering, Business Development, Operations.
• Deep care for the end user, prioritizing rider experience and quality in multi-party programs.
• Strong technical depth to read system designs and discuss architecture and APIs with engineers.
• Experience with external-facing integrations, platform APIs, or B2B2C products where another company's engineering team is a key dependency.
• Experience launching products or integrations in multiple geographies, including localization, payments, and regulatory considerations.
• Familiarity with defining quality gates, testing plans, SLAs, and launch readiness for systems shared with external teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional technical programs to integrate Waymo’s autonomous service with third-party platforms.
• Own the technical delivery of external integrations end-to-end, from cross-functional plan to post-launch quality.
• Serve as the primary execution counterpart for external teams, turning ambiguous work into defined deliverables and schedules.
• Drive trade-off decisions across scope, schedule, scalability, and user experience.
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks and dependencies across partner programs and report to executives.
• Build scalable frameworks, processes, and tooling to onboard and operate many partner integrations efficiently.

Job description

• Waymo’s Technical Program Managers and Program Managers are accountable for Waymo’s roadmap execution by providing thoughtful cross-functional planning, clarity, and proactive risk management
• In the face of complex technical and operational challenges with no established playbooks to follow, we act with thoughtful urgency, driving conversations, discussions, and outcomes
• Our team partners closely with every function of Waymo to structure, own and drive work towards real-world deployments of the Waymo Driver across platforms and geographies
• Lead cross-functional technical programs to integrate Waymo’s autonomous service with third-party platforms
• Own the technical delivery of external integrations end-to-end, from creating the cross-functional execution plan to defining the process for ensuring continued quality post-launch
• Serve as the primary execution counterpart for external teams, translating an ambiguous set of work into clearly defined deliverables, owners, and schedule
• Drive technical trade-off decisions across scope, schedule, scalability, and user experience
• Proactively identify, prioritize, and mitigate risks and dependencies across multiple concurrent partner programs, and represent them to executive leadership
• Build the scalable frameworks, processes, and tooling that let Waymo onboard and operate many partner integrations without a linear increase in effort
