Aurora is seeking a Technical Program Manager to partner with senior engineering leaders and drive architectural proposals across hardware and software systems. This role emphasizes de-risking architecture and coordinating across teams to meet business goals, with hybrid in-office expectations in California.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in TPM/PM/Engineering Manager roles focused on architecture, strong communication, and experience with Agile/Waterfall.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Technical Program Manager, Product Manager, or Engineering Manager with an architecture focus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Information Systems, or related area.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for executives.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex designs and software development lifecycle.
• Excellent project management experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Willingness to work in Mountain View, CA with occasional travel for vendor and cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior executives and engineering leaders to drive architectural proposals and de-risk decisions.
• Coordinate multiple engineering teams to ensure architecture meets business objectives across hardware generations.
• Transform complex challenges into actionable architectural solutions across Aurora.
• Drive major architectural initiatives including toolchains, autonomy stack improvements, and fallback systems.
• Develop credible engineering plans and align stakeholders on product roadmaps.
• Identify and remove obstacles to maintain momentum and balance priorities.
• Lead evaluation and integration of vendor-supplied fallback systems.
