Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Staff Systems - Nuclear Harness & Survivability (NH&S) Engineer in Roy, Utah, to support the Sentinel program. Responsibilities include leading NH&S-focused systems engineering for software-intensive subsystems and coordinating across teams to ensure survivability under nuclear effects.

The role requires an active U.S. Government Secret clearance, substantial NH&S design experience, and proficiency with MATLAB/Python for analysis and modeling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years.
• US Citizenship with active Secret clearance at start, ability to obtain TS/SAP as needed.
• Experience conducting NH&S design reviews for survivable/weapon systems and translating nuclear effects environments into requirements.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Python for data analysis, modeling, or automation; experience with radiation effects modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead software-focused systems engineering activities for SLCM-N during TMRR phase and ensure alignment with program objectives.
• Define and decompose software requirements, allocate interfaces, and convert customer requirements into software specs.
• Define NH&S environments and flow requirements into software, firmware, and interface designs.
• Conduct radiation transport modeling and assess effects on semiconductors and software-controlled electronics.
