The Opportunity
This position is for a Staff Systems Engineer. You will be working closely with a talented team to deliver a complex software application into operations. The position will primarily support the operations for a software system.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction and requirement transparency across development teams
- Perform requirements management including requirements creation, tracking, flow down, coverage, verification tracking, compliance matrices, etc.
- Develop test procedures to formally verify system requirements for sell‑off events
- Decompose system requirements and collaborate with multi‑disciplined, distributed teams to generate efficient and scalable solutions
- Support development, implementation, and verification of mission capabilities
- Participate in development and execution of program milestones events such as customer meetings, internal and formal government testing events, and discrepancy report review boards
- Conduct testing events of software solutions and generate test result documentation
- Support operations of software with tasks such as enterprise test events and user integration and onboarding
Qualifications
Required:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, IT, or a related engineering field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in software development or systems engineering
- Effective cross‑organizational communicator capable of working well in a small, fast‑paced team
- Ability to develop requirements
- Ability to develop test procedures that verify requirements
- Ability to develop tracing between requirements, code, and verification
- Working knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology
- Current IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or CASP)
Desired
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with virtual teams
- Familiarity with cloud architectures and deployment requirements for DoD
- Experience using automated tests to sell‑off formal requirement verification
- Experience with government site acceptance processes and procedures
- Experience working with software‑defined interfaces that use XML or JSON to both document and implement
- Experience with SATCOM or GEOINT systems
- Business acumen and ability to balance technical requirements with business needs
- Experience in the operational deployment of multi‑product baselines and functionality
- Experience with Cameo modeling tools
- Experience developing a software architecture using digital tools
- Experience with DOORS or DoR Next‑Gen
Pay Range
The Proposed Salary Range For This Position Is $82,100 – $172,400
