Job summary

SimpliSafe is seeking a senior electrical engineering leader to own the full lifecycle design of security-focused products. You will drive architecture, collaborate across mechanical, firmware, and product teams, and lead prototype and production readiness while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in industry with 6+ years on consumer products.
• Experience optimizing designs for battery operation with very low power usage.
• Proven leadership in design from concept to mass production.
• Ability to translate customer needs into technical requirements and actions.
• Strong communication, EQ, and mentoring skills.
• Experience with design validation plans covering multiple subsystems.
• Embedded systems design experience with common interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle design of security-focused products.
• Analyze cross-functional tradeoffs among design options.
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, industrial design, sourcing, and product management.
• Drive development from concept through prototype, testing, and production.
• Oversee prototype development and testing; design test strategies.
• Lead design reviews with suppliers and manufacturing partners for mass production.
• Identify resource gaps and engage experts as needed.
• Align product architecture with requirements and constraints.
• Mentor junior engineers and translate requirements into tasks.
• Manage risk identification and mitigation and maintain risk registers.
