Job summary

Dormont Manufacturing Co in Richardson, Texas is looking for a skilled individual to join their team in managing and supporting Unix/Linux environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing enterprise RedHat solutions, scripting, and computer hardware maintenance.

The role involves providing top-notch technical support, driving automation, and monitoring system health to ensure reliability. A collaborative spirit and problem-solving skills are essential.

• 2-3 years with computer hardware/maintenance.

• Provide best in class computer support for engineering design teams
• Provide technical direction and escalation for technologies maintained within the Linux compute space
• Drive innovation and automation of computer solutions both internally and for our customers
• Provisioning of systems both physical and virtual.
• Drive configuration management through puppet
• Proficient in scripting languages and tools to automate tasks, system builds, and change management (Puppet, Python, shell, etc.)
• Monitor overall health of the Unix/Linux environment with an emphasis on proactive discovery of potential issues and continually work to improve Linux compute environment through automation.
• Propose and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of systems and services.

Minimum Qualifications:

· 3-5 years managing enterprise RedHat Unix/Linux solutions, preferably large scale

· Experience ranging from three to five years in scripting skills (Shell, Python, etc.)

·Experience ranging from three to five years with virtualization (vmware)

· Experience ranging from two to three years with computer hardware/maintenance in the data center

· Ability to lift 50lbs!

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience supporting servers in the cloud preferred.

· Proficient with LDAP configuration and management

· In-depth knowledge of Redhat Kickstart and configuration management tools (puppet preferred)

· Proven skills in automating systems services and tasks to streamline service and ensure consistency

·AI‑first mindset with experience applying AI to problem solving and solution development

Other desirable skills:

• FlexLm licenese management
• Advanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve complex problems as well as a strong drive for continuous improvement and demonstrating a commitment to providing excellent customer service
• Project management experience
• Experience with revision control systems
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal)
