Job summary

Civilworks is seeking a Staff Surveyor to support boundary, topographic, construction layout, and as-built surveys. You will work with licensed surveyors, project managers, engineers, and field personnel to collect, analyze, and process data for planning and construction.

The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in surveying principles, good judgment in data analysis, and a commitment to professional development toward licensure. This is a full-time, on-site role with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or related field or equivalent experience.
• SIT certification obtained or actively pursuing.
• 1–5 years of professional land surveying experience.
• Knowledge of surveying principles, practices, and legal requirements.
• Experience with modern survey instrumentation and data collection systems.
• Proficiency in survey software and data processing applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform boundary, ALTA/NSPS land title, topographic, as-built, and construction layout surveys.
• Use conventional and robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS, data collectors to collect field data.
• Conduct deed, title, zoning, and records research to support boundary analysis.
• Process and analyze survey data for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with boundary determinations from field evidence and records.
• Prepare survey plans, drawings, maps, exhibits, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, survey crews, and clients to support delivery.
• Provide guidance to survey crew members and junior staff.
