Major Responsibilities:
  • Nurse/Patient Relationship: Develops and maintains a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum, demonstrating adaptive communication styles, providing individualized care, assessing patient and family readiness, and incorporating a holistic approach.
  • Assuring/Improving Quality Care: Facilitates quality, cost-effective care, mobilizes resources, adheres to standards, participates in quality initiatives, reduces risk, and meets regulatory requirements.
  • Patient/Staff Education: Meets learning needs of patients and families, utilizes resources, and promotes educational growth among staff.
  • Nursing Process: Uses nursing process as a problem-solving model, recognizes clinical changes, makes clinical decisions, prioritizes care, coordinates discharge planning, applies ethical decision-making, and delegates appropriately.
  • Leadership/Collaboration/Professional Development: Demonstrates respect, participates in team activities, maintains current knowledge, communicates effectively, seeks certifications, and completes ongoing education.
Licensure:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Education/Experience:
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school
  • Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent communication, documentation, computer, and organizational skills
  • Current Illinois RN license and CPR certification
Physical Requirements and Conditions:
  • Ability to work flexible hours, handle multiple tasks, transport objects and patients, respond quickly, and work in varied environments
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance, with patient handling equipment used for heavier lifts
