Job summary

Muon Space is hiring a Staff Product Manager to own one to two product areas end-to-end, with responsibility across hardware, software, and data systems. You will own roadmaps, architecture decisions, tiered offerings, and pricing/packaging to scale the business.

Reporting to the VP of Product, this is a Staff-level IC role requiring seniority to make load-bearing decisions and engage with engineering and leadership across surfaces, with on-site work in Mountain View, CA three days per week.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of Product Management experience spanning hardware, software, and data systems.
• Track record of owning a large product area end-to-end including architectural, productization, and commercial decisions.
• Strong fluency working with platform, infrastructure, and systems engineering leadership.
• Comfort operating as a Staff-level IC: making load-bearing decisions, writing crisp strategy documents, driving alignment across senior stakeholders, and executing without a team to delegate to.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for one to two large Muon product areas.
• Define reusable platform capabilities versus mission- or customer-specific customization and shape architectural choices.
• Sequence the roadmap to win near-term deals while building reusable value.
• Define success metrics and hold the organization accountable.
• Own productization decisions for your area and drive a shift toward standardized, tiered offerings.
• Define area-specific platform variants, interfaces, and mission-team/customer-facing options for spacecraft, bits-to-ground, on-board compute, or instruments.
• Run customer and user discovery, translate insights into roadmap decisions and experiments.
• Partner with Growth to analyze deals and feed insights into product and engineering investments.
• Track competitive and technology trends and keep Muon ahead or balanced with competitors.
• Collaborate with engineering, Growth, Marketing, and VP of Product on cross-area roadmaps and go-to-market strategies.
