Job description

$10,000 sign on bonus

The bonus will be paid out in 3 installments: 1/3 after 90 days, 1/3 after one year, and 1/3 after 2 years of employment. The amount reflects gross pay, prior to applicable tax withholdings and deductions required by law.

Job Description

This is a full-time position in an expanding IAC-accredited dedicated Vascular Lab with no call or weekends. The Vascular Surgery team currently includes six Vascular Surgeons, three Nurse Practitioners, one Physician Assistant, two Fellows, and seven Vascular Technologists, providing patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Independently perform a variety of vascular tests, including but not limited to peripheral venous (DVT), venous insufficiency, extracranial carotid, transcranial, renal artery, peripheral arterial and bypass graft, pulse volume recordings (PVR), abdominal aortic aneurysm, contrast-enhanced EVAR, vein mapping for peripheral bypass, coronary bypass, arteriovenous fistula, and dialysis access scans.
  2. Perform studies in the Vascular Outpatient Laboratory, inpatient units, and operating room.
  3. Assess patients' signs and symptoms, including documenting medical history and symptoms.
  4. Recognize when the requested examination appears inappropriate based on patient symptoms or findings, and take appropriate action to addend the order. Determine when further study is necessary and collaborate with referring physicians to ensure proper patient care.
  5. Prepare accurate preliminary study reports and provide critical interpretations to the referring physician or responsible caregiver when needed.
  6. Maintain imaging and physiologic equipment, manage images within PACS, and restock supplies as necessary.
  7. Maintain individual credentials through CME acquisition.
  8. Assist in training vascular technology students, residents, and fellows in performing noninvasive vascular diagnostic studies.
  9. Participate in research studies and quality improvement initiatives within the Vascular Department.
  10. Contribute to the Vascular Department accreditation process.
Education

Baccalaureate or associate degree (or equivalent) with demonstrated aptitude for biomedical technology and clinical medicine.

Certification

Active status as a Registered Vascular Technologist by ARDMS or Registered Vascular Specialist by CCI.

Experience

Previous demonstrated experience as a vascular technologist is preferred.
