Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Software Quality Assurance Engineer in Roy, UT to support the Sentinel program. This role requires active DoD Secret clearance and hands-on experience in SAFe/Agile software development, quality plans, and SDLC processes.

You will lead QA activities, provide technical guidance as SME, develop quality metrics, oversee reviews, and collaborate across teams to ensure first-time quality and compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Science degree; 12+ years experience or equivalent
• Active DoD Secret Clearance with recent investigation
• Experience in Agile/SAFe software programs
• Knowledge of SDLC processes and engineering practices
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Cameo, DOORS, GitLab and static analysis tools

Responsibilities

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Software Quality Assurance Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT supporting the Sentinel program.

What You'll Get To Do:

• The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting Software Quality Assurance (SQA) with the oversight/reporting of the software effort for the Sentinel program while working within a fast-paced Agile/SAFe software development environment. Our focus is on ensuring process execution and quality is built into the development, testing, and release of the software deliverables.
• The successful candidate will have extensive experience as a Software Product Owner, Software Project Manager, or Software Quality Assurance Engineer and experience working within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The position will afford the opportunity to interact with all levels of the organization. Effective communication skills are a must. In addition, the candidate will provide expert technical advice and guidance to team members.
• Ensure the development and implementation of robust Software Quality plans, documents, checklists, and training materials.
• Provide senior technical oversight for problem resolution activities, root cause analysis, and preventive/corrective action implementation.
• Work within multiple security classifications with team members located at multiple sites.
• Support development of software metrics.
• Support status reporting/meetings/presentations.
• Support Peer Reviews of artifacts for engineering release.
• Support dispositioning of Non-Conformance candidates.
• Work as a specific Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the SQA team.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications:

• A Bachelors in Science degree with 12 years of experience; or 10 years of experience with a Masters degree; or 8 years of experience with a PhD.
• Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
• Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
• Recent experience working within a large Agile/SAFE software program as a Software Product Owner or Software Project Manager.
• Full understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the processes, plans, standards, industry practices and tools required of a mission-critical program.
• Experience working within an Agile/SAFe environment (fast-paced/incremental development/delivery) with focus on first time quality.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Cameo, DOORS, Gitlab, and static analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Missile Systems/Sub-Systems design, construction, or sustainment
• Experience in process monitoring, data collection, analysis, and metric reporting for a large program/supplier-base.
• Experience in Peer Reviews and Code Reviews
• Experience in software build testing, qualification, and Integration and Test
• Able to read and understand Software Code (C++, Java, Python, etc.)

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,000.00 - $208,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
