Job summary

Broadcom Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead development on Zowe CLI and Zowe Explorer, driving architecture, performance, and maintainability for mainframe tooling.

You will mentor engineers, review designs, and contribute to open-source efforts while delivering scalable client applications and robust REST integrations. The role emphasizes collaboration with product, UX, and open-source communities, using TypeScript/Node.js, C/C++, and VS Code extensions in a Linux environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Mainframe software development or related field.
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C/C++ and Node.js applications.
• Experience developing on Linux/Unix systems.
• Strong experience with VS Code extensions and web tech (HTML/CSS/JS/TS, React/Vue/Angular).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction and architecture for Zowe CLI and Zowe Explorer.
• Mentor engineers; conduct design reviews and code reviews.
• Implement features, performance optimizations, and CI/CD integration.
• Collaborate with product and UX to translate requirements into specs.
• Contribute to open-source and Zowe community.
