Job summary

Broadcom Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to advance Zowe CLI, Zowe Explorer and related client apps on Linux/Unix systems.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive performance and scalability improvements across open-source and internal product teams. The role emphasizes hands-on development in TypeScript, Node.js, C/C++, and VS Code webviews, with CI/CD, code reviews, and collaboration with distributed teams in the Zowe community.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Mainframe software development.
• Experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C/C++ and Node.js.
• Experience on Linux/Unix platforms.
• Demonstrated expertise with VS Code extensions and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React/Vue/Angular).
• Strong CLI development knowledge and experience with Git & CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction and architecture of Zowe CLI (Node.js/TypeScript), Zowe Explorer (VS Code extension) and other Zowe client apps (C/C++).
• Develop, test, and maintain features using TypeScript, Node.js, AG Grid, and React for VS Code webviews; ensure security, reliability, and quality with CI/CD.
• Engage with open-source community, contribute to standards, and collaborate with distributed teams.
