Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver-The World's Most Experienced Driver to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo's fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. Team: Fleet Management

Project: Workshop management; focused on planning and executing vehicle maintenance and uptime software.

In this hybrid role, you will report to an Engineering Manager.

You will:

• Collaborate and work across team boundaries
• Work with PM, UX, legal, operations, or other non-engineering roles
• Lead and take ownership to drive efforts to completion
• Set and align the teams technical roadmap
• Maintain the best engineering practices

You have:

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years experience working with backend tech (e.g. C++, Spanner)
• 6+ years of experience with Front End (Angular, Javascript, React, etc)
• Experience with 3rd party integrations and public APIs
• TL or leadership skills
• Experience in product development lifecycle

We prefer:

• Familiarity with Google infrastructure (e.g. Flume, Borg, Protocol Buffers, OnePlatform) or GCP equivalent
• Development experience with C++
• Working knowledge of frontend frameworks (e.g. Angular, Dart)
• Scalability experience
• Experience in the automotive industry

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
