Job summary

Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for its Video AI Team in Bangalore. You will design and deploy scalable ML platforms, lead critical components, and collaborate across teams to advance video understanding and content intelligence.

Strong cloud, Python, and ML tooling experience required. Responsibilities include building end-to-end ML workflows, deploying on GCP Vertex AI, and mentoring engineers while upholding reliability and security standards.

Qualifications

• 9–12+ years of software engineering experience building scalable backend systems.
• Deep hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as GCP and Vertex AI.
• Strong proficiency in Python with API and architecture skills.
• Experience deploying ML models and managing ML pipelines.
• Hands-on with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker and CI/CD.
• Experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face).

Responsibilities

• Design and lead core components of the ML platform for scalability and reliability.
• Build APIs and microservices powering ML workflows (deployment, orchestration, registry).
• Architect and deploy AI/ML pipelines for video ingestion, annotation, training, and serving.
• Develop cloud-native AI systems on Google Cloud Platform with Vertex AI tools.
• Own cloud infra and CI/CD automation using IaC principles.
• Evaluate and deploy CV/Multimodal models for production use cases.
• Design and operationalize DL, CV, Generative AI, LLM/VLM and RAG capabilities.
• Collaborate with security to ensure robust access controls and compliance.
• Promote engineering excellence with testing, reviews and documentation.
• Establish testing, monitoring, and reliability for ML components.
• Mentor engineers and set long-term technical direction.
• Work with AI engineers, data scientists, PMs to support evolving use cases.
