Job summary

LinkedIn is hiring a Senior AI Software Engineer for the Video AI team, based in New York or Mountain View. This role blends ML with production software to power video understanding, personalized feeds, and search for our 1B+ members.

You will own end-to-end ML systems that translate product needs into scalable architectures, train state-of-the-art models, run online experiments, and optimize the GPU infrastructure for latency-sensitive recommendations.

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning or related technical discipline, or related practical experience.
• 2+ years experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.
• 2+ years experience in programming languages such as Java, Python, etc.
• 2+ years experience with machine learning, data mining, and information retrieval or natural language processing
• 4+ years of relevant AI/Machine Learning experience.
• MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• Experience with PyTorch or similar Deep Learning frameworks
• Experience with Spark for data manipulation and transformation
• Experience with A/B testing at scale in a consumer-facing product
• Experience with AI code development (i ClaudeCode, Codex, Copilot)
• Experience adapting pre-trained LLMs to production systems including fine-tuning and student-teacher model paradigms
• Experience applying AI/ML to recommender systems at scale
• Published work in academic conferences or industry circles.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end ML systems that run in production at LinkedIn scale from multimodal video understanding to retrieval, ranking, and search.
• Translate product requirements into scalable ML architectures, develop and deploy state-of-the-art models.
• Design and evaluate online experiments, optimize the distributed GPU infrastructure for billions of recommendations in milliseconds.
