GEICO is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Testing Tools and Frameworks team in the Palo Alto area. The role focuses on building and maintaining testing frameworks, libraries, and tools, improving run times, reporting, and analytics for hundreds of engineers across GEICO.

You’ll work with Pytest, Playwright, TestNG, and contribute to rolling out common testing frameworks. Strong knowledge of Linux, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD practices is essential.

Formación

• 8+ years in software testing and performance testing.
• Deep familiarity with test framework internals (Pytest, Playwright, TestNG).
• Proficiency in Go, Node.js, Java, or Python.
• Strong Linux system administration and shell scripting.
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.

Responsabilidades

• Partner with business and engineering to translate testing needs into capabilities in tools/frameworks.
• Develop extensions, plugins, fixtures to improve test framework capabilities.
• Prototype new test vectors, approaches, or methods.
• Bridge gaps between teams by building new libraries.
• Build tools such as Excel Addons, data sanitation services, CLIs.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous improvement.
• Stay updated with industry trends to keep delivery processes cutting-edge.
