Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Developer Infrastructure - Test team. You will define and own the technical strategy for test infrastructure across Coinbase engineering, building and operating core services for test orchestration, sharding, flaky-test detection, and result analysis.

You will drive improvements in test feedback speed and reliability, own end-to-end systems with observability and SLOs, and mentor engineers to raise standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building and operating production software with distributed systems fundamentals.
• Experience defining and delivering technical strategy for foundational systems.
• Deep experience in test infrastructure, including test execution at scale and flaky-test detection.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical strategy for test infrastructure across Coinbase engineering.
• Build and operate core test infrastructure services: orchestration, smart test selection, sharding, flaky-test detection, result analysis.
• Drive measurable improvements in test feedback speed and signal reliability for faster shipping.
• Own systems end to end: architecture, observability, SLOs, on-call operations.
• Partner with engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and drive platform improvements.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical standards in test infrastructure.
