Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. seeks a Staff Software Engineer for the Developer Infrastructure - Test team to set the technical direction of test infrastructure and ship faster with reliable signals. You will own end-to-end test systems, collaborate across engineering, and uplift platform quality with scalable architectures.

You'll lead initiatives to improve test feedback speed, reliability, and observability, while mentoring engineers and shaping how Coinbase tests software at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building and operating production software with distributed systems.
• Proven track record delivering technical strategy for foundational systems.
• Experience operating systems at scale using Kubernetes and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical strategy for test infrastructure across Coinbase engineering.
• Build and operate core test infrastructure services (test orchestration, flaky-test detection, test result analysis).
• Drive improvements in test feedback speed and signal reliability.
• Own systems end to end, including architecture, observability, SLOs, and on-call operations.
• Partner with engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and drive platform improvements.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical standards for test infrastructure.
