Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Developer Infrastructure - Test team. You will define the technical direction for test infrastructure, build core services for test orchestration and analysis, and drive faster, more reliable test feedback across Coinbase engineering.

You will own systems end to end, including architecture and on-call operations, while mentoring engineers and raising the bar for test infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building and operating production software with distributed systems fundamentals.
• Experience defining and delivering technical strategy for foundational systems others depend on.
• Deep experience in test infrastructure, including test execution at scale and flaky-test detection.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical strategy for test infrastructure across Coinbase engineering.
• Build and operate core test infrastructure services (orchestration, test selection, sharding, flaky-test detection, result analysis).
• Improve test feedback speed and reliability so engineers ship with confidence.
• Own end-to-end systems including architecture, observability, SLOs, and on-call operations.
• Partner with engineering teams to turn bottlenecks into platform improvements.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical standards for test infrastructure.
