Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience building and operating distributed data systems.
• Strong Go or equivalent systems language.
• Proven track record leading complex, multi-quarter initiatives.
• Experience with high-performance backends and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-quarter technical initiatives from problem framing through rollout.
• Own the architecture of core Tempo components: ingestion, storage, query, and metrics generation.
• Design APIs for humans and agents.
• Drive operational excellence across production systems.
• Mentor engineers and review code.
• Participate in on-call and incident response.
• Contribute to open source efforts.
