Job summary

Drata is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to serve as a technical leader across multiple small teams. They design and build scalable systems, guide architectural decisions, and tackle complex challenges that span codebases and domains.

They work closely with Product and Engineering leadership to shape the technical roadmap, ensure systems are reliable and secure, and drive key cross-team initiatives from idea to implementation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience building production systems.
• 3+ years with Node.js or React in production.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong experience with OAuth, SCIM, OIDC, and RBAC.
• Knowledge of authentication/authorization systems from large providers.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product to shape roadmap requirements and choose technologies.
• Review architecture and code for quality, scalability and security.
• Troubleshoot performance and scalability issues and guide solutions.
• Own cross-team projects like framework adoption or developer experience improvements.
• Mentor engineers across teams through guilds and coaching.
