Uber Technologies Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Streaming Data Platform in Seattle. You will shape architecture and drive initiatives across real-time data movement, processing, and analytics at a global scale.

You will lead cross-functional teams, tackle challenging distributed systems problems, and champion platform reliability, performance, and developer experience across Uber’s engineering organizations.

Competenze

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience in distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems principles: consistency, replication, consensus, fault tolerance.
• Proven track record architecting high-performance, reliable systems at scale.
• Experience with large-scale data infrastructure and streaming platforms.

• Define and drive the technical vision and architecture for Uber's streaming data platform, ensuring long-term scalability and reliability.
• Lead the design and evolution of large-scale distributed streaming systems, addressing data delivery, coordination, and fault tolerance.
• Drive architectural modernization to simplify systems, remove bottlenecks, and improve efficiency.
• Set strategies for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across compute, storage, memory, and network.
