Uber Technologies Inc. is seeking engineers to develop and maintain the backend infrastructure for real-time streaming used across Uber’s platforms.

You will work to scale the streaming system globally, ensuring high performance and reliability while collaborating with internal teams and external partners. The role requires strong experience in backend development and distributed systems, with proficiency in Go or Java and familiarity with common networking protocols.

Competenze

• 5+ years of experience in software development, including networking and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in a backend programming language such as Go, Java, or a comparable language.
• Familiar with HTTP, TCP/IP, and UDP networking protocols.

Mansioni

• Develop and maintain backend infrastructure for real-time streaming use cases at Uber.
• Advance the streaming infrastructure’s global scale while balancing performance and reliability.
• Develop automated evaluation framework for streaming protocols and platforms against application requirements and operational needs.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to integrate their systems and deliver new platform capabilities.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues, performance regressions, and incidents across clients and backend services.
• Participate in design and code reviews and contribute to the team’s on-call rotation.
