Job summary

Jobtailor in San Francisco seeks an experienced platform engineer to architect and deploy advanced service mesh features. You will lead adoption of service identity and mTLS, design traffic optimization primitives, and maintain core framework libraries.

You will collaborate with service owners, work with infrastructure peers on multi-region strategies, and apply AI to accelerate analysis and iteration. Expect on-call incident management as part of the role.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience.
• Deep technical expertise in service mesh technologies such as Envoy or Istio.
• Proficiency across multiple languages (Java, Python, C++).
• Strong understanding of service security including mTLS adoption.
• Proven ability to design highly available and efficient distributed systems.
• Demonstrated experience driving adoption of complex platform capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience using AI to accelerate engineering workflows.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
