Job summary

Harvey is building security-focused AI platforms and seeks a Staff Software Engineer to join as a founding member. You’ll design secure agent execution, sandboxing, and protected environments that scale with AI-driven workflows.

You’ll mentor engineers, ship production-grade code, and collaborate across Security, Infrastructure, and Product Engineering to balance safety, performance, and cost while enabling innovative open-source model use.

Qualifications

• 10+ years developing and running production software.
• Strong skills in Go, Rust, Python, or C++ with Linux and containerized infra.
• Deep expertise in execution security: sandboxing, OS isolation, or container security.
• Experience building shared platforms and helping teams adopt them.
• Experience with cloud infra, distributed systems, observability, and production ops.
• Fluency with AI-assisted engineering and agentic workflows.
• Strong communication and technical judgment, with a track record of delivering.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for secure agent execution across Security, Infra, and Product Engineering.
• Design and operate a platform for security agents to discover and validate vulnerabilities within boundaries.
• Build reusable controls for agent tool use, code execution, and data access, integrating with identity/secrets platforms.
• Collaborate with Harvey’s product sandbox and agent platform teams to implement protections.
• Enable internal use of open-source models with protections around model serving and data handling.
• Develop adversarial tests, telemetry, and containment mechanisms to observe and interrupt agent activity.
• Lead delivery across teams, mentor engineers, and stay hands-on through production operations.
